AI can produce a working page quickly, but it cannot decide which page a business needs, and it does not answer for the result.
"Build a website in ten minutes with AI" headlines attract attention, and clients regularly ask whether they make development studios unnecessary. The honest answer starts with what is being sold. It was never the speed of writing code; it is the judgement that turns a business problem into a working digital solution.
AI is used across DEV INFOTECH projects without embarrassment. It drafts boilerplate code, produces first-draft copy, builds clickable prototypes quickly and flags common security and performance issues. In the Orbit Labs dashboard project, AI also produced the first draft of the anomaly-detection model. Delivery is faster and experiments are cheaper as a result, and that part is genuinely welcomed.
Three gaps matter in website work:
The workable framing is AI as a fast intern: it accelerates production, while judgement, responsibility and taste stay with people. An intern's output is checked before it reaches a client, and the same applies here.
For a temporary page — an event landing page, a one-off promotion — AI tools are sufficient and sensible. When a site carries lead generation, conversion, payment or compliance duties, the question of who answers for the outcome outweighs the question of who wrote the code. Generated sites launched without review have run into trouble over privacy compliance and payment integration. The tool is not the risk; launching something nobody has checked is. Speed is negotiable; accountability is not.
Two rules apply to every AI-assisted project. Payments, personal data and compliance are reviewed by people. Any code that works passes a security and performance check before release. AI accelerates the work, but it does not sign off on it. The rules follow from who carries the consequence when something fails, not from a view about the tool's quality.
Where AI contributes to a conclusion, the system is required to explain its basis. An explainable model may look less impressive than a black box, but it can be trusted, questioned and held accountable — and only what can be adopted counts as value.

If you are weighing an AI-built site against a professionally built one, the deciding question is who answers for the result. Talk to us about your project.
